Project – Indonesia:

AGROFORESTRY AND REGENERATIVE AGRICULTURAL SYSTEMS

The project aims to strengthen resilience among coffee farming families in Northern Sumatra and Western Java against climate change, through sustainable agricultural practices of agroforestry systems and regenerative agriculture schemes.

We are partnering with ECOM Indocafco in this innovative and solution oriented programme that includes training of farmers in soil conservation, agroforesty, regenerative agriculture and much more.

Currently over a 1000 farmers have been trained so far with an aim to train 4000 farmers by end of 2025, 66.000 fruit and timber trees have been planted and 61.000 coffee seedling have been distributed to restore 69 hectares of degraded land.

Project - Honduras:

ALIANZA PARA EL CAFE - HONDURAS

The Coffee Alliance is made up by multiple partners like USAID, COHUNDU CAFÉ and it's foundation, Grupo Cadelega and JDE Peet’s. The alliance started a technical assistance and training activity aimed at serving at least 10.000 coffee producers located in the coffee-growing areas of nine departments of Honduras.

Its main objective is to boost the productivity of their coffee farms and increase the economic income of their households.

Project – Ethiopia

REGROW YIRGA

The Regrow Yirga has been setup with our partner Technoserve. This program aims to build the competitiveness of the Ethiopian coffee sector through productivity and quality increases in Yirgacheffe origin, ultimately leading to increased direct trade and farmer income.

The program trains trainers to deliver monthly trainings to farmers who are organized in Focal farmer groups on topics like regenerative coffee farming practices like tree stumping, coffee harvesting (deliver only the ripe cherries to the wet mills) , composting and intercropping.

We are part of JDE Peet’s and using the Common Grounds Sustainability programme
